Tournament Outline

• Eight men’s and Eight women’s teams from all over the US will compete to be National Champions

• Four guaranteed games (three pool play & 1 championship/consolation game),

  • Games 50 minutes (2x25 min halves)

• Each team can submit at least six players compete in an extra all-star east vs west game

  • Other possible exhibition game against the U25 development squad or U21 National Team

• Games are played 11 v 11 with outdoor FIH rules

  • Official Tournament rules will be on usfhl.com and can be furnished upon request

• USFHL National Championship occurs the weekend before Pan Am Cup at Spooky Nook

Schedule

• Games begin at 4:00 on Friday, July 28 and Final Championship ends at 5:00 Sunday, July 30***

  • Official schedule released in early July- Depending on Field availability games will start later on Friday and end earlier on Sunday.

  • Championship celebration will occur immediately after game time expires

***Teams flying or driving > four hours get schedule priority- Inform Director of limitations ASAP

• Warm up space w/ balls and cones

  • There is designated Tiger Turf space for each team to warm up one hour before every game

• Social-  Saturday, July 29 in Atrium bar at Spooky Nook 7:00-11:00pm

  • Theme:  “Superfans”-  wear your favorite professional sports team’s colors, jersey, logo, hat, etc.

    • After After party at Fork and Palate til 1:00am

• Convention-  Saturday, July 29 in Integrity Room B on Spooky Nook Campus

  • Open to All-  Discuss next steps for adult field hockey in the US & how to support each other.  Meet other adult field hockey leaders and those passionate about growing the game for adults.

    • Two one hour sessions, same topics 1:00 and 3:00

Timeline

• July 1:  Registration Deadline-  Teams that qualify are accepted based on first come/first served because of a limited amount of spots.  

  • Register on the homepage of the website www.usfhl.com (should be live by mid June)

    • Details on payment and roster registration will be provide upon receipt of registration

• July 8:  Payment Deadline-  A registered team will lose their spot to the next person on the waitlist if payment is not received.

United States Field Hockey League (USFHL) Bio

National league where adult competitive communities throughout the US compete to be National Champions.  USFHL is organized under one Advisory Board made up of reps from each local community who enforce the rules and regulations.  The website and app will organize and market adult hockey on a National level and direct athletes to local league & club websites for local info.  The local communities are autonomous and they choose which team will represent them at the National Championship.  However the method must be approved by the Advisory Board and follow the USFHL Rules and By-Law
